Growing up in Waterloo, Ontario, Julia developed a strong passion for helping others and providing compassionate care. As a Hearing Instrument Specialist at Arnold Hearing Centres, she spends her days conducting hearing assessments, fitting hearing aids, performing earwax removal, and providing custom ear protection and counselling for patients.
Julia’s favourite part about being part of the Arnold Hearing Centres team is the strong sense of camaraderie within the office and the genuine relationships built with patients. She values the time and attention the team is able to dedicate to each individual, ensuring every patient receives thoughtful, personalized care.
One of Julia’s proudest moments at Arnold Hearing Centres involved supporting a patient with severe hearing loss who required a power mould for proper amplification. Although the software indicated everything was functioning correctly, the patient still felt the device was not meeting her needs. Trusting both the patient’s feedback and her clinical judgement, Julia contacted the manufacturer and discovered the receiver was defective. Real-ear measurements confirmed the hearing aid was under-amplifying, and thanks to Julia’s persistence and care, the issue was resolved, leading to a much happier and better-supported patient.
Outside of the clinic, Julia is actively involved in fellowship and values the sense of unity, service, and connection it brings to her life. She also enjoys going for regular walks, visiting local farmers’ markets, and cooking fresh meals for herself and her partner.
