As you probably know by now, I love being able to live in such a wonderful area of Canada. There are some truly great businesses to discover and enjoy that are just a quick drive away from home or work.
I strongly believe we need to support our local businesses, keep their dreams alive, and enjoy ourselves with a quality dining experience too!
After all, local business owners genuinely care about what’s best for the community in which they serve. One of my favourite local businesses is Melville Café. I first visited just over 10 years ago and was immediately impressed with the friendly staff serving great food and drinks.
Especially the pizza – which is available on Tuesdays as a special!
Short History
Founded in 2004, the Melville Café is situated in the University of Architecture building. That’s inside the bustling Cambridge city centre.
The café itself offers a tranquil atmosphere and boasts a picturesque view of the Grand River area of Galt.
It has a wide range of affordable, high-quality items on the menu, and it really is one of the best places around to enjoy a morning coffee, a fresh lunch, or a thin-crust pizza for dinner.
Why We Love Them
Visit alone. Visit with friends. I enjoy it either way because the ambiance is cheerful and clean, and customers can enjoy free Wi-Fi too.
The café is open for indoor dining, and the seasonal patio is available when the weather allows.
And you can still order from the full menu for take out. So you can enjoy the great food on the premises or save it for an at-home meal instead.
There’s even a catering menu if you’re planning an event that needs that special Melville touch.
The staff are friendly and attentive, ensuring every customer has a pleasant experience.

You can create your own from a list of special toppings, or else choose Margherita, Tuscan, or the in-house special, the Melville pizza.
Each one is mouthwateringly delicious. And there’s a Pizza Madness special every Tuesday. You can get a two-topping pizza for just $6.95. The café also boasts barista-made lattes, cappuccinos, fair-trade coffee, fresh house-made sandwiches, soups, and desserts.
Their entire menu is great, so make sure you come hungry.

The Melville Café is conveniently located in Cambridge. That’s due south of our Guelph location and just southeast of our Kitchener location.
