“You need to talk to the people at Arnold Hearing because they can definitely help you.”

I first realized I had a hearing challenge when I kept asking my wife and grandchildren to speak up or repeat themselves more often. I wondered if hearing aids would give me normal hearing, or if they would only bring a marginal improvement with a big price tag. From my first visit to Arnold Hearing Centres, I felt welcomed and reassured by the staff, which left a very positive impression.

With hearing aids, I can definitely hear people better in most cases, and I no longer need to have the TV turned up so loud. If you are concerned about your hearing, you need to talk to the people at the clinic because they can definitely help you. They are very honest about anticipated results and offer a lot of options compared to many other centres.

“To miss out on some of life's precious moments because I couldn't hear would be a life of isolation.”

I first became concerned about my hearing when my husband was diagnosed with hearing loss. His hearing loss had impacted everyone around him, and I didn't want that to happen to me, so I made an appointment for a hearing test and found out I had a small amount of hearing loss. After crying all the way home, I decided it was time to do something about it because getting hearing aids earlier rather than later would help me preserve my hearing as I age. My first pair of hearing aids came from Costco and while they weren't as expensive, I discovered that price shouldn't be the only concern. The aftercare at Arnold Hearing Centres is fantastic, and that's not something Costco offers. Their staff are friendly, supportive, and honest.

I can't imagine my life without hearing aids now, and I don't know why I was afraid to get them. Missing out on life's precious moments because I couldn't hear would be a life of isolation. I would pass on some of the educational information the clinic has provided me over the years and encourage anyone concerned about their hearing to make the first step: get a hearing test.

“If you’re concerned that you have hearing loss, you most likely do. It’s painless and you will be much happier knowing if you have a problem or not. ”

My hearing loss crept up slowly, with no single moment of realization. I found myself saying “what?” more often and missing details in conversations. The final straw was when my daughter asked if I heard the cicadas singing and I had to admit I hadn’t heard anything at all. Before contacting Arnold Hearing Centres, I was concerned they might just try to sell me something I didn’t need. Instead, they seemed engaged and anxious to do what was best for me. With hearing aids, I have heard things that I haven’t heard for years.

If you’re concerned that you have hearing loss, you most likely do. It’s painless and you will be much happier knowing if you have a problem or not.

“Go for it..testing doesn’t hurt and your quality of life improves”

I first realized I might have a hearing challenge when I was presiding in court and noticed I had trouble hearing evidence clearly for a few weeks. I had no fears or concerns before contacting Arnold Hearing Centres, because I knew I needed to be examined to do my job properly. My first impression was of an understanding audiologist who explained the test clearly and relieved any potential anxieties I might have had.

Since getting hearing aids, my wife is happier because the need for yelling or repeating has been minimized. I would say to anyone concerned about their hearing to go for it - testing doesn’t hurt and your quality of life improves.

“Go with an open mind. Take the test and then ask yourself is it worth not hearing loved ones or enjoying things in life that you are missing out on.”

I knew my hearing was not good but didn’t want to admit it. I was nervous about contacting another clinic because other hearing loss clinics had been too pushy. However, Sarah made me feel very comfortable and did not force anything on me. My first impression was that everyone was friendly, compassionate, and extremely understanding. They truly cared about me as a person.

Hearing aids have most definitely impacted my life by allowing me to hear sounds, voices, and enjoy life again, which is the greatest gift of all. If you are concerned about your hearing, I would say go with an open mind, take the test, and ask yourself if it’s worth not hearing loved ones or missing out on life.

“I would highly recommend Arnold, and have done so. ”

I first realized my hearing challenge when I tried to join the RCAF at age 19 and was rejected, though I tried to blame it on a bad head cold. My connection with Arnold Hearing Centres came much later in life, after trying other dispensers. I was referred by another Arnold client and was impressed by the thorough examination by Debbie Spencer.

At age 95, I have very little of my own hearing left, so my hearing aids provide limited, but some, benefit. Family and friends have learned to live with this. I would highly recommend Arnold to anyone concerned about their hearing, and have done so.

“Your quality of life will be amazingly changed!!”

About 10 years ago, I realized I had a hearing challenge because I was missing out on socializing and going to the theatre. I was concerned about how much loss I had and wondered if hearing aids would help me. My first impression of Arnold Hearing Centres was excellent, with a friendly reception that was genuinely concerned for my needs and very helpful. Hearing aids have made a major difference, giving me more quality of life. I can now entertain and have conversations without fear or embarrassment and enjoy being around people more.

If you are concerned about your hearing, please do not put it off. You will be treated with the utmost respect and concern, and they will find the perfect fit for you. Your quality of life will be amazingly changed.

“Go see Debbie. She’s really knowledgeable.”

About 10 years ago, I suddenly realized I was hearing many fewer sounds, like birds, my cat purring, and coyotes at night. I didn’t have any fears before contacting Arnold Hearing Centres, since I was hoping that by going to a clinic much closer to my home, my second set of hearing aids and service in eleven years would be a lot better, and it certainly is. When I met Debbie, I immediately felt like I was sitting with a friend who understood my concerns. My hearing aids have helped me hear much better, though I have had to get used to how different some things sound.

If you are concerned about your hearing, go see Debbie. She’s really knowledgeable.

“I have 14 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren who are so important in my life. Being able to hear them means so much.”

It’s been almost 30 years since I began to notice I was having difficulty hearing. I had my hearing test at an independent centre and shopped around for the right place to get my aids. Arnold Hearing Centres impressed me with their caring attitude, so I chose them. On my first visit, although we initially thought about leaving because the technician was busy, a lady quickly came out to talk to us. Her caring attitude stood out and confirmed my decision.

I have 14 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren who are so important in my life. Being able to hear them means so much. I'm almost 90 and I know that being able to hear makes such a difference in my relationships and my ability to think clearly. I would highly recommend the clinic. X worked patiently with me to get the right fit, even when I became discouraged, and this helpful attitude has continued through each new set of aids over 27 years. I am so grateful for the cleaning and checking they do every three months to keep my aids working well.

Velma M

“Go to see them! They are very helpful and considerate.”

I have been deaf in one ear since I was six, and the other ear started to fail about thirty years ago. I mainly had problems as a student, having to rely on one ear and always needing to sit at the front of the class at school and university. When I first visited Arnold Hearing Centres, my impressions were favourable. The staff were friendly and the clinic was well equipped. I had no concerns before contacting them, and I found them to be very helpful and considerate.

If you are concerned about your hearing, go to see them.

“Make an appointment and get checked”

I realized I had a hearing challenge many years ago when I kept asking people to repeat what they said. I did not have any fears or concerns before contacting Arnold Hearing Centres. With hearing aids, I can hear much better now. If you are concerned about your hearing, make an appointment and get checked.

Karl M.

“You will be treated with respect, sensitivity and professionalism! No need to worry at all!”

I first realized I might have a hearing challenge when I experienced an imbalance in both ears and knew I had a wax build-up or other issues. I was concerned about my hearing health, but I had no worries about contacting Arnold Hearing Centres. My first impression was that they were very professional and friendly, and I appreciated that they did not push hearing aids on me as soon as I walked in the door. I do not have hearing aids at this point, but I would say to anybody concerned about their hearing that you will be treated with respect, sensitivity, and professionalism. There is no need to worry at all.

“Confidence at work, enjoying conversations socially and simply enjoying hearing in many environments has been life changing!”

My hearing started to impact my ability to hear conversations at work. Once I realized my hearing was inadequate at work, I also began to notice struggles socially, at home, and especially while using the telephone. My only concern before visiting Arnold Hearing Centres was not knowing what to expect. When I first visited years ago, I was thankful that I was accommodated within my work schedule. The first visit was easy and everyone was super pleasant.

Hearing aids have given me confidence at work, helped me enjoy conversations socially, and simply enjoy hearing in many environments. It has been life changing. Today’s technology has come so far, making hearing aids so much more than they were years ago. I absolutely have and will continue to refer anyone struggling to hear to call the clinic and set up an appointment for an audiogram. It’s simple and painless.

“I wish I had called way sooner.”

As a 40-year-old, I started noticing strange issues with my right ear whenever I washed my hair. It would get clogged, and my hearing would be severely impaired for at least 24 hours. Naturally, this was frustrating and concerning. My mind immediately jumped to worst-case scenarios – was it a brain tumor?

Despite my worries, I hesitated to seek help. It wasn’t until over a year later that I finally decided to contact Arnold Hearing Centres. From the moment I called to book my initial consultation, I was impressed. The staff was incredibly friendly and walked me through how to prepare for my appointment.

Stepping into the clinic, I was immediately put at ease by the warm and professional atmosphere. The team was not only helpful but also genuinely caring. They took the time to address all my concerns and thoroughly explained the examination process.

While I don’t need hearing aids at this point, the peace of mind I gained from my visit is invaluable. The experience has made me more aware of the importance of regular hearing check-ups.

For anyone who’s noticing changes in their hearing, don’t wait as long as I did. Arnold Hearing Centres provides a supportive environment where you’ll feel comfortable addressing your concerns. Taking care of your hearing not only benefits you but also improves your interactions with others. I’m grateful to have found such a professional and friendly team to guide me through this journey.

- Steph H.

“I felt so alone in a crowded room, unable to join the conversation. That’s when I knew I needed help.”

My hearing loss became apparent during a gathering where I couldn’t understand most of what was being said around the table. It was incredibly frustrating, and I felt isolated despite being surrounded by people. Determined to find a solution, I researched hearing clinics and came across Arnold Hearing Centres.

From the moment I stepped into their clinic, I was struck by the warm, family-oriented atmosphere. The staff was incredibly friendly, putting me at ease right away. They took the time to understand my concerns and thoroughly assess my hearing.

Getting hearing aids has been life changing. I can now enjoy conversations, listen to music, and appreciate song lyrics again. The freedom to participate in group settings without constantly asking for repetition is priceless.

To anyone struggling with hearing loss, I can’t stress enough how important it is to get your hearing checked. Arnold Hearing Centres doesn’t pressure you; they work with you to find the best solution for your needs. Don’t hesitate to take that first step – it could transform your life as it did mine.

I’m grateful for the care I’ve received and look forward to many more years of clear, vibrant sound.

- Tess S.

“The staff were wonderful. They explained that hearing aids weren’t needed yet, but the test would give them a baseline to see how my hearing changed over time.”

I first realized I might have hearing loss when the buzzing in my ears became really bothersome. Initially, I was hesitant to contact Arnold Hearing Centres, worried they’d try to sell me hearing aids before I truly needed them. But I’m so glad I took that step.

From the moment I walked in, I was impressed. The team was professional, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable. They took the time to explain everything, addressing my concerns with patience and care. It was refreshing to find a place that prioritized my well-being over sales.

While I didn’t need hearing aids right away, the baseline test they conducted has been invaluable in monitoring my hearing health. When I eventually did need hearing aids, the impact on my life was tremendous. Now, I can hear conversations clearly most of the time, and I’m more confident in social situations.

If you’re on the fence about getting your hearing checked, don’t hesitate. The staff at Arnold Hearing Centres are happy to answer all your questions, and there’s no pressure. Taking that first step towards better hearing can truly change your life – it certainly did for me.

- Marion C.

“My hearing aids have simplified many aspects of daily life. It’s amazing how much easier everything becomes when you can hear clearly.”

As a judge presiding over Provincial Offences Trials, I first realized I might have hearing loss when I struggled to hear the evidence being presented. It was a wake-up call that I couldn’t ignore.

I decided to take action and booked an appointment with Arnold Hearing Centres. The staff were professional and welcoming, creating a very positive first impression.

Not only has it improved my performance at work, but it’s also enhanced my everyday interactions.

If you’re on the fence about getting your hearing checked, I encourage you to take that first step. Book an appointment and get tested. The team at Arnold Hearing Centres will guide you through the process with care and understanding.

- Richard S.

“I waited way too long to do something about my hearing, and it almost cost me my job. Don’t make the same mistake I did.”

I was in denial about my hearing loss for years, pushing it aside until my employer gave me an ultimatum: address the issue or lose my position. Devastated at the thought of leaving a job I loved, I finally reached out to Arnold Hearing Centres.

Initially, I was terrified. Would I go permanently deaf? Could hearing aids really help? And how much would this all cost? But from the moment I stepped into Arnold Hearing, those fears began to melt away. The staff was incredibly patient and reassuring, taking the time to explain everything and put me at ease.

The change I’ve seen since wearing my hearing aids has been incredible. Not only did I keep my job, but I’ve also noticed improvements in so many areas of my life. It took some time to retrain my brain, but the results have been worth it.

If you’re on the fence about seeking help, take it from me – don’t wait. Arnold Hearing Centres provides top-notch care and advice. There’s nothing to fear except letting your hearing loss go untreated.

- Cindy B.

“I’m not asking my wife to repeat herself all the time… and that’s great!”

Two years ago, I noticed I was constantly asking my wife to repeat herself. As a musician and singer over 70, I was hesitant about getting hearing aids. I worried they’d make me feel old and interfere with my music.

A friend recommended Arnold Hearing Centre, and I’m glad they did. From the moment I walked in, I felt at ease. Ryan, the technician, really listened to my concerns and answered all my questions clearly. The whole place was clean and efficient, and I never felt pressured.

The hearing aids have made a big difference. They boost the frequencies I was missing without affecting my ability to hear music properly. Now, I can hear my wife’s voice much better, which has improved our communication significantly.

If you’re experiencing any hearing loss, I’d encourage you to visit Arnold Hearing Centre for a test and consultation. It’s a no-risk session that could change your life like it did mine. You can even try on hearing aids to see how they feel. Don’t let concerns hold you back – taking that first step was one of the best decisions I’ve made for my health and relationships.

- Brad N.

“I’m hearing more clearly now, and it’s made a world of difference.”

I can’t pinpoint exactly when my hearing started to decline, but I knew I needed help. When I decided to visit Arnold Hearing Centres, I had no real concerns or preconceptions. I just wanted to improve my hearing.

From the moment I stepped into the clinic, I was very impressed. The staff were professional and welcoming, making me feel at ease throughout the process. They took the time to understand my needs and explained everything clearly.

Getting hearing aids has been a game-changer. I’m hearing more clearly now, which has improved my daily life in ways I hadn’t even realized were possible. It’s the little things, like catching conversations more easily or enjoying music again, that really stand out.

If you’re thinking about getting your hearing checked, I’d say go for it. Arnold Hearing Centres won’t disappoint you. They’re knowledgeable, caring, and really know their stuff. Taking that first step might seem daunting, but trust me, it’s worth it. I’m glad I did, and I’m looking forward to enjoying better hearing for years to come.

- Phil T.

“I wonder now what I was ever afraid of. I no longer struggle to hear or pretend that I can.”

For years, I convinced myself my hearing wasn’t that bad. It took my daughters noticing how loud I played the radio and TV, and how often I said “Pardon,” for me to face reality. I was missing out at church and in large crowds, but I was reluctant to admit it.

My biggest worry was that people would see hearing aids in my ears. I had no idea how discreet modern devices could be! When I finally decided to seek help, I chose Arnold Hearing Centres based on glowing recommendations from two dear friends.

From the moment I walked into their Frederick Street Mall office, I was impressed by the professionalism and personal attention. The staff put me at ease and addressed all my concerns with care and expertise.

Now, at nearly 81, I can fully engage in conversations with my daughters. They’ve noticed a significant improvement, and I’m grateful for the change in my life. I often think about how much I was missing before and how unnecessary my fears were.

To anyone hesitating about their hearing, I’d say make an appointment with Arnold Hearing Centres right away. Let the professionals take it from there – your life will improve without a doubt. I’m thrilled with the ongoing care and support I receive, and I only wish I’d done it sooner.

- Marj G.

“The moment I put on those hearing aids, I was amazed at how much I’d been missing. It was like a whole new world opened up to me.”

After 47 years of driving a forklift in noisy environments, I realized that the hearing protection we used back then wasn’t as effective as today’s standards. About 8-12 years ago, I decided it was time to get my hearing checked, and it turned out to be one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.

Walking into Arnold Hearing Centres, I was immediately struck by how friendly the staff was. They took the time to discuss all my options, making me feel comfortable and well-informed. Their approach was professional yet personable.

Since getting my hearing aids, the impact on my life has been incredible. I can hear everything again, including background sounds I’d forgotten existed. Music sounds so much better now, and enjoying movies at home or in the theatre is a whole new experience. Even sporting events have become more thrilling.

I’m grateful for everything the staff at Arnold Hearing Centres has done for me. Their long history of helping people with hearing issues is evident in the care they provide. If you’re considering getting your hearing checked, I wholeheartedly recommend them.

- Timothy G.

“I can finally enjoy watching TV with my family again!”

I never realized how much I was missing until my granddaughters’ ‘quiet’ playtime turned out to be quite the ruckus. That eye-opening moment led me to Arnold Hearing Centres. Initially, I was worried about the cost of hearing aids, but I decided to take the plunge anyway.

From the moment I stepped into the clinic, the staff were incredibly welcoming and friendly, which put all my nerves to rest. It’s amazing how much of a difference proper hearing care can make. Now, I don’t have to crank up the TV volume, much to my family’s relief!

If you’re on the fence about getting your hearing checked, I’d say go for it. Make that appointment with Arnold Hearing Centres – you won’t regret it.

- Gloria F.

“Go! Don’t wait! Do it now!”

Due to the nature of Larry’s role, communication is at the forefront of his priorities, as he spends much of his time understanding concerns and listening to questions.

His main concern was being put in a position where he is unable to hear others, which would cut his effectiveness and potentially make him give up what he loves doing – training managers.

On top of his fears and misconceptions about hearing aids, another worry was what if hearing technology didn’t work for him.

While it was a huge first step approaching Arnold Hearing Centres, it was one that changed Larry’s life significantly. First impressions wise, he thought the whole team was very “professional, friendly, and all the staff exude professionalism.”

Larry adds, “All of the audiologists I’ve had at Arnold have been really good at customer service. It may be in part because there has been so much improvement in technology, but my most recent audiologist was simply extraordinary.

“She was patient, competent, and really good at answering technical questions, without technical jargon. When finished, my hearing was so much improved that it was unbelievable.”

While Larry is still new to hearing aids, he couldn’t imagine life without them, as they have “changed everything.”

Larry describes his new set of hearing aids as “extraordinary” and he has no difficulty hearing others.

Since then, he received earbuds that are personalized to his ears and is hearing things that he hasn’t heard in years. From “the bell indicating the refrigerator door is open, to the turn signal in my car, to hugely increased enjoyment for the music I listen to.”

Larry encourages others in his position to “Go! Don’t wait! Do it now!”

- Larry M.

“The professional staff are there for you and are willing to answer any questions and to work with you to make the most of your ability.”

Over the years, Donna found that she was struggling more and more to hear her loved ones around her. Her family were even becoming more frustrated by constantly having to ask others to repeat themselves over and over.

One day, she worked with someone who wore hearing aids and they got talking about hearing technology and they recommended Arnold Hearing Centres.

A hearing test later, they confirmed that Donna had a hearing loss and said hearing aids could help, which she describes was a “bit of a shock.”

Initially worried, she was concerned that she would miss hearing things and get left out.

Luckily, she has a supportive network around her, where “friends, family, co-workers, etc. are more than willing to help and support.”

Donna describes that the experience was a learning curve, which the “Arnold staff and the Canadian Hearing Society provided lots of guidance and tools.”

As a hearing aid wearer for over 16 years, she has found that people often don’t realize she wears them. Donna has particularly found that “technology has improved immensely over the 16 years,” but she often has to accept that she has a hearing impairment, so she will experience some isolation from time to time.

- Donna U.

“Finally feels like I have my life back”

Shelly’s hearing loss began to infiltrate into all aspects of her life. Eventually, she became sad that she was unable to communicate with people and was desperate for help.

At this point, she had no fears or worries about hearing aid technology – just excitement over what the future holds.

As soon as she walked into the clinic, she noticed how “friendly and helpful” the whole team was and describes how it “finally feels like I have my life back.”

Shelly highly recommends Arnold Hearing Centres and rates them 10/10.

- Shelly R.

“Arnold will take care of you the moment you step through the doors. They’re knowledgeable and patient – you will become one of the family.”

Diagnosed with a hearing loss at 3 years old, Natalie has become accustomed to wearing hearing technology and now views them as an “extension” of her body.

Over the years, Arnold Hearing Centres has been her go-to provider, as they have “always provided wonderful service throughout my 40 years of being with the clinic.”

Hearing aids have impacted her life in many ways and without them she would be “isolated, stressed, and would miss opportunities to live my life to the fullest.”

She encourages others to take the first step, adding, “Arnold will take care of you the moment you step through the doors. They’re knowledgeable and patient – you will become one of the family.”

- Natalie C.

“They are absolutely lovely & completely professional.”

While hearing loss can often be disguised for up to 10 years, it wasn’t long until Susie’s frustrations got the better of her and she started getting irritated with family members.

In particular, she found it frustrating when her parents phoned into school and “mumbled” on the phone. To Susie’s surprise, she eventually realized it was her hearing.

She was a little anxious on her first visit, as she wasn’t familiar with the staff, but she was soon welcomed by the whole team who made her feel comfortable and safe.

Susie adds, “They are absolutely lovely & completely professional.”

Looking into her hearing was the next step, however, it uncovered a surprise. At first, Susie was told by another provider that “tinnitus was permanent and hearing aids wouldn’t help me.”

But when they put her hearing aids in, it was like her ears “woke up!”

Susie describes, “I was shocked at the improvement. I didn’t know what to expect. I was so happy. And yes, I even cried a little at that appointment because I was so happy. And grateful.”

It took a while for Susie to adjust to her new hearing and she was shocked at the difference it made, as she could now hear her husband clearly.

Susie encourages others to visit Arnold Hearing Centres, adding, “I would highly recommend Arnold Hearing. In fact, I have.”

- Susie W.

“They will help you with care and understanding.”

Partially deaf since he was 6 years old, Alex used his first hearing aid when he was in his 20s. Now, at age 91, he wouldn’t visit anywhere other than Arnold Hearing Centres.

Initially, he was recommended Arnold by his previous audiologist in Uxbridge, who spoke highly of them. Overall, he found the clinic very “well organized and welcoming,” which made a huge difference to how comfortable he felt.

For Alex, hearing aids are a part of his daily armour and he “cannot manage without my aid.”

Alex rates his experience with Arnold Hearing Centres as 10/10.

- Alex K.

“Go get it checked out. I did.”

During most conversations, Frank found himself constantly saying “What?” and he knew it was time to do something about his hearing loss.

When he visited Arnold Hearing Centres, he was shocked at the professionalism and attentiveness of all the staff.

Since having his hearing aids fitted, he no longer has to ask others to repeat themselves or guess what they are saying.

Frank has one message to others, “Go get it checked out. I did.”

He rates his experience with Arnold Hearing Centres as 10/10.

- Frank F.

“I can go out with confidence knowing that I can carry on a conversation and not answer incorrectly.”

Jill became frustrated over not hearing her friends, especially in conversations. While she could only disguise her hearing loss for so long, she knew that visiting an audiologist was the next step.

Naturally, she had fears about how hearing aids would look and was concerned about the “background noise of hearing aids and not tolerating them.”

When the time came for visiting Arnold Hearing Centres, her first impressions were “friendly, laid back, professional staff.”

After having her hearing aids fitted, her life has “improved greatly” now that she can hear.

Jill says, “I can go out with confidence knowing that I can carry on a conversation and not answer incorrectly.”

She encourages others to take the first step, adding, “Go. There is no pressure. They will answer all your questions and concerns.”

Jill rates her experience as 10/10.
