Freed slaves who fought for the British during the American Revolutionary War were among the first settlers to the Fergus, ON area. To their number were added Scots and Irish settlers who built grist mills, sawmills, and woollen mills, as well as the Monkland Mills oatmeal factory, which exported oatmeal as early as the mid-1800s.
The waterfalls on the Grand River, which is now in the center of town, along with a lot of hard work, made Fergus into a strong community of stone buildings and unshakable family values that still stand fast. Today, our annual Scottish Festival and Highland Games celebrate our heritage as the largest gathering of Scottish clans outside of Scotland.
Family values have been an integral part of our community throughout its history, and they continue to define who we are. That’s why Arnold Hearing Centres, with our independent, family-owned and operated hearing clinic in Guelph, ON, has played a critical role in the area for over 70 years. Our experienced staff of dedicated hearing professionals are passionate about helping our hearing-impaired patients, and our commitment to meeting our patients’ needs is what has made us who we are.
Our focus is on meeting the unique needs of each patient we see with personalized treatment that not only ensures a satisfactory hearing health care experience but delights patients throughout their journey to better hearing.
